Synopsis
Alfred Hitchcock combined brilliant storytelling techniques with murder, mystery and black comedy in one of the most popular television series ever made. The first big-name director to embrace the new medium, the Master of Suspense adhered to the same economical style and shooting schedule as he did for his films. Here are four thrilling episodes directed by the master himself, including the one that started it all. In the series premiere, beautiful housewife Vera Miles discovers that husband Ralph Meeker has a thirst for "Revenge." Icy workaholic Joseph Cotten finds the highway a deadly place for an emotional "Breakdown." Sir Cedric Hardwicke helps his daughter out of a sticky wicket on "Wet Saturday." And in an offbeat spoof of Rear Window, a voyeuristic mystery writer ponders "Mr. Blanchard's Secret," starring Robert Horton.
